Hawai‘i is beginning to open to visitors.  We are glad to see you.  Please follow County regulations for keeping safe.

Our HeART OF HILO HAWAIIAN CULTURAL CELEBRATION is live with HULA, STORYTELLING and MUSIC.  Stroll through Downtown Hilo on the SECOND SATURDAY of the month through June 2021.  Find our tent in front of one of the shops on Kamehameha Avenue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and enjoy outdoor entertainment.  Wear your mask and practice social distancing.  Enjoy the re-opened shops and restaurants..

onlineimageresize_com_IMG_20201114_BertDue to COVID-19, Destination Hilo has temporarily closed some programs:

  • Temporary suspension of our BIG ISLAND MUSEUM DISCOUNT PASS.  Some museums are open; most require reservations to limit access.  Check their websites.
  • Suspension of HILO HULA TUESDAY AT THE BANDSTAND until gatherings of more than ten people are allowed and the County re-opens the Mo`oheau Park Bandstand for events.
  • Reduced hours for our ALOHA INFORMATION STATION next to the Downtown Hilo bus terminal – currently open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Gradual reopening on more days as visitors return.

We care about your safety and ours as we move forward through this multi-year pandemic.  Face masks, social distancing, hand washing, and limited gatherings remain critical to a healthy outcome for our Island.

Thank you for caring.
