This festival celebrates the birthday of Hawaii’s beloved Queen Liliuokalani, the last reigning monarch of Hawaii. It is held in the beautiful surroundings of the Queen Liliuokalani Gardens, a Japanese-style garden in central Hilo.  Blossoms will rain from the sky for the 12th annual celebration of the Queen’s birthday.  More than 400 hula dancers will perform a one-of-a-kind dance to honor her.  Entertainment from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. will include taiko drummers, the Waiakea Ukulele Band, Darlene Ahuna, the Brown Ohana and more.  Make-and-take crafts for children, Hawaiian practitioners offering their services and lots of local style food will be available.
